Future Events at Birnie Kirk

Friday 26th September: 10am until 12 noon
Macmillan Coffee Morning with cakes and drinks plus raffle prizes and music, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support which is 98% funded by voluntary donations. These Coffee Mornings are the biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer.

Friday 4th October: 12 noon
Holy Mass on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi beginning with and act of Thanksgiving for the Harvest, followed by lunch in the hall.

Saturday 1st November
There is a wedding in Birnie Kirk today, so no Ordinariate Mass - which is postponed until Saturday 15th November.

Saturday 15th November: 12 noon
Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Souls of the Faithful Departed, followed by lunch in the hall. Names of the departed to be remembered at the Mass should be given to Gill or Bryan on or before Wednesday 12th November.

Wednesday 3rd December: 7pm
Advent Carol Service by candle-light, followed by refreshments in the hall.

Saturday 6th December: 12 noon
Holy Mass for Ember Saturday, followed by lunch in the hall. Ember Days are a time to give thanks to God for the gifts of nature and the changing seasons.

Wednesday 24th December: 7pm
Evensong on the Eve of Christmas, followed by refreshments in the hall.

Sunday 28th December: 3pm
Service of Nine Lessons and Carols by candle-light, followed by refreshments and Christmas Pies in the hall.

Saturday 3rd January 2026 - there will be no celebration of Holy Mass today.

Saturday Saturday 7th February: 12 noon
Holy Mass on the Saturday after Septuagesima with the Blessing of Candles, followed by lunch in the hall. Septuagesima (approximately 70 days before Easter) was the ninth Sunday before Easter and the third Sunday before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. It was the first of a three-Sunday period known as Pre-Lent, which also includes Sexagesima (sixtieth) and Quinquagesima (fiftieth) Sundays.
